Manage your Corporate Partnerships with Over-Communication

So you have landed yourself a corporate partner, now what? Hopefully you have signed a multi year agreement with them. Its quite common in a new relationship, that this will not be the case and you will have a year to prove your worth to them. In this case you want to be sure that you over deliver in every way possible to keep them as part of your program for the following year. Aside from providing them everything that is laid out in your agreement, try to come up with ways that you can create a solid foundation to the relationship you have started.

One of the most successful ways to do this is to OVER communicate with them. You want to set up weekly update calls on how everything is progressing. That’s the obvious thing to do. But you want to go further, provide them with measurements by email, consistently be in touch with statistics, your schedule, upcoming PR appearances etc. Another idea is to find out when everyone’s birthdays are and send flowers or small gifts to everyone on your corporate team. Invite them to special occasions and other seminar events that you think they might enjoy. Any reason you can think of to entertain them and be in communication with them will help you build a solid foundation for the relationship. By adhering to this trend, you increase your chances of the corporate partner becoming a life long fan and a willing participant when it comes to asking for a renewed agreement. So always remember to Over-Communicate!!
