Don’t roll the dice, be concise!

Mitch here.  Over the years I have written a lot of letters and emails about ideas and concepts that I wanted to get corporate partners interested in. All of them pretty much are emails anymore. The industry term that is commonly used for these types of communication emails are called a pitches.

Through trial and error, I have learned how to make these emails most effective, and the way to craft a pitch. The biggest secret in a sponsorship pitch is to remember that less is more!

Keep it short and get to the point immediately.

One of the most common mistakes I see from a lot of people that have tried to get corporate partners is that when they have written an email to a potential partner they have written a short version of their book!! I have seen emails that are 6 or 7 paragraphs and even longer!

I know with me, when I get an email that I can see is long, I flag it and come back to it when I have time to read it. In the corporate world you risk the possibility of them just outright deleting it because they have NO time and they may not know who you are so its just click and delete.

You want to have an interesting and catchy subject line that catches their attention and then a short carefully worded email that will get them to call or email you back.

Who you are and what is the idea, full stop! If they are interested they will call. So make sure to keep it simple and not too wordy.

Don’t roll the dice with lengthy wordy emails….Be concise!
