Happy Sunday everyone! Mitch here. So I have been getting more feedback on people getting back to you, more specifically to the question I am being asked “What else can I do to get the person I need to talk to call me back?
You have heard me talk about persistence, it works, you have heard me talk about calling them at odd hours early in the morning or late in the evening, that works too, but sometimes you need to go a step further and be really creative in your approach to catch the attention of that particular someone you need to talk to.
You need to think outside the box!
Here is an example. I once needed to speak to a senior positioned Marketing director. I had a program that I knew his company was a perfect fit for and time was running out. I had tried calling him for two solid months, three times a week, sent a boatload of emails, called him in the early morning and the late evening and had seen no success, not even an acknowledgement of receiving any of my attempts to reach him.
So I had read about an approach that I thought I would try, I can’t take credit for coming up with the approach but it was very creative.
I went to a Payless Shoe store and I bought a pair of dress shoes, I brought them home and removed one of the shoes from the box. I then put a note inside the box, wrapped it up and couriered the box to his office. I tracked the package and saw that it had been delivered, and less than an hour later, the Marketing director called me directly!
Can you guess what the note said? It read, “Now that I have one foot in the door, wi ll you please call me back!?!”
When the Marketing director called me he was laughing and commented on my creativity, he ended up buying into the program.
So be creative and use your creativity to think outside the box or as was in this case to Think outside the Shoebox!

That’s the best lumpy mail story outside of real estate investing that I’ve ever heard! Whatever it takes!
