Are you Impressionable?
Do you know how many impressions you make a year? If you don’t you need to. What’s an impression? I like to call them eyeballs and ears. In laymen terminology, an impression is a person, who has seen, heard, read about you, or follows you. You want to find out how many impressions you are making in a day, week, month or year. Why? because this is one of the ways that a corporate partner will evaluate your true value or worth to them as an investment. It is a critical and important piece of information essential for your partner to be able to make a buying decision. You want to make sure that you are clear and concise in providing them with this information, but more importantly make sure you have the data to back up every number you down on paper.
This means that your data needs to be iron clad and substantiated. In other words, where possible, the information you provide them should come from third party sources that your potential partner can recognise. For example, if you are speaking at a seminar, get a head count, but have the number verified by the organizer or promoter. This way your corporate partner can go to the source of the information if they want to. Samples of impressionable data are things like how many people did you speak to annually, how many people read your blog, how many people are reading your newsletter, or how many visitors come to your website each month etc.
Track everything and anything you can and make yourself impressionable.
